I am taking EE 240 this semester and it has been a real pleasure working with Andy and Chris, the two Ph. D. students facilitating the course. A co-worker is also taking a class at-a-distance from another univ. and they are not nearly as organized as you are at Berkeley. Thanks for the extra effort! M.R. Berkeley definitely has the best I.C. classes around. The course facilitators are very knowledgable and the professors are typically recognized as experts in their field. J.S. I've been taking distance ed classes for three years, and the other universities' attitudes regarding remote students ranged from mild concern to complete indifference. The support from Cal VIEW was excellent. I have attended live classes that did not offer the support that you offer. You bend over backwards for the students. Cal VIEW was outstanding at keeping me informed of the scheduling and the assignments. I really appreciated the initial call that you gave me before the class started to let me know that you were available for help. I always knew what to expect and when to expect it from all of you. As far as the course content goes, it was superb. The lectures were very interesting and current, and throughout the course I felt that I was learning valuable information. I could easily see how the material related to solving real world problems, or to other areas of computer science. The course facilitators were very supportive throughout the course. They were always responsive and answered questions quickly. I really didn't feel like I was in a video course at all--and I think that says a lot about the quality of the response that I got when I asked a question and the quality of the lectures and material that the course facilitator provided. In short, I wanted to let you all know just how great the course was! There is no school in my vicinity which offers a course of the quality that I got from Cal VIEW. Distance learning is a wonderful way to get an education, especially when the class is as outstanding as this one was. D.J.K.
