and Announcements
Attention December graduates
Dean Newton and the Engineering Alumni Society cordially
invite Fall 2005 graduates of the College and their families to
attend a breakfast reception in their honor. The event will
take place on Saturday, December 3, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in
Hearst Memorial Mining Building, Betty and Gordon Moore
Lobby. Confirm your attendance and reserve your special gift
by emailing eas@coe.berkeley.edu or calling 643-7100.
Ahh! Finals!
Rest assured, you're not the only one stressing out. The
Society of Women Engineers and the Society of Engineering Sciences are here to help! Carla Trujillo, former
COE diversity coordinator, will be conducting a workshop
to improve your test performance and reduce anxiety. The
session will be held on Wednesday, November 30, from
5:15 to 7 p.m. at Wozniak Lounge in Soda Hall. Please
contact Ipsheeta Furtado to RSVP at ejc.workshop@gmail.com.
Fun, zany holiday gift idea
The Transportation Library's annual calendar is now available! Inside, you'll find black and white images depicting revolutionary designs that never made it past the drawing board.
A flying saucer bus (December) picks up and drops off
urbanites at the city plaza; a suburbanite father pushes an
aerial sedan (November) into the garage at the end of a work
day; and an automated highway (August) carries cars to the
destination of their choice. Calendars cost $13 each plus tax
and can be purchased at 412 McLaughlin Hall. For more
information, go to www.lib.berkeley.edu/WRCA/calendar.html.
Free food study break
Take a break from studying for finals for a free scrumptious
snack and thirst quenching beverage. Join Engineering
Alumni Relations outside Kresge Library on December 14
and 19 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and between Soda and
Etcheverry Hall on December 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
See you there!
