Faculty Honors

In August, ME professor J. Karl Hedrick was named the American Society of Mechanical Engineers 2006 Rufus Oldenburger Medal winner. He was selected for “seminal contributions to nonlinear estimation and control and pioneering work on vehicle dynamics and control that has significantly influenced dynamicists, control theorists and engineers worldwide.” The Rufus Oldenburger Medal recognizes significant contributions and outstanding achievements in the field of automatic control. Hedrick’s research interests include nonlinear control, automotive control systems and aircraft control.
