Last Chance for Co-op!

The June-December 2004 work period will be the final opportunity for undergrads and graduate students to find a paid six-month internship through the Engineering Co-op Education Program. Due to budget cuts, the program must close its doors in December 2004.

To be eligible, applicants must be engineering or chemical engineering majors or be declared in the computer science major, have completed their freshman year, not be graduating in May 2004, and have an overall GPA of 2.3.

Check out job descriptions posted weekly on the Engineering Co-op website at www.coe.berkeley.edu/coop.
The online application process is still fast and easy, and the deadline is March 31, 2004.

Co-op staff is available to answer questions in 306 McLaughlin Hall, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Summer BioE research opportunity

The Guidant Bioengineering Summer Research Program is open to all engineering students. Applications are due Friday, March 19, 2004, by 4:30 p.m.

The Guidant Bioengineering Summer Research Program is a sponsored internship program for students performing bioengineering research in funded projects with department faculty. The aim is for students to join a research lab and perform full-time research over a ten-week period during the summer. The culmination of the program is the annual symposium, where students present the results of their summer projects to faculty, students, and industry representatives.

The Guidant Corporation, a world leader in the design and development of cardiovascular medical products, donates substantial funds annually to support the program. Each student participant receives a $3,200 stipend and the opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor.
