Staff Honors

In November, NE student affairs officer Lisa Zemelman received a "Berkeley Hero" award. She was one of 67 staff personnel whom students singled out as "going beyond the call of duty" on the university's annual undergraduate experience survey. Zemelman has been at Berkeley since 1986 and joined the NE department in 1999. "It's fun and interesting being around so many idealistic and optimistic young people who are committed to fixing some of the world's biggest problems, such as global warming," she says. "I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to help some of these students achieve their goals." (Peg Skorpinski Photo)
