Staff Honors

In November, Multicultural Engineering Program director Michele de Coteau received a “Berkeley Hero” award. She was one of 67 staff personnel whom students singled out as “going beyond the call of duty” in the University’s annual undergraduate experience survey. De Coteau has been in her position since 1998. “My students are the best of the best!” she says. “I never have a dull moment because they are so smart, challenging, inspiring, motivated, supportive, and creative. It is truly a privilege to get to know them and to watch them blossom year after year.” (Photo by Wendy Edelstein)
