Friends of
the College of Engineering,
We are
embarking on another exciting project this month, this time in partnership
with Stanford and MIT. On May 29, the alumni associations of all
three campuses will introduce the inaugural event of the MIT/Stanford/Berkeley
Nanotechnology Forum. Entitled Nanotech: Beyond the Hype,
this event will include Nobel Prize winner Steven Chu from
Stanford, Dr. Mevya Mevyapan from the NASA Ames Center for
Nanotechnology and our own Professor Paul Alivisatos from
chemistry and materials science & engineering. The Nanotech
Forum will be a monthly series with several of the programs held
on the Berkeley campus. Read more on our www.coe.berkeley.edu/events.
Last month, an overflow audience of College students, faculty, and
staff had the pleasure of hearing renowned entrepreneur and CEO
Joe Costello speak about how to achieve personal success
in life and in business. Streaming video of his talk is available
in our Multimedia
Gallery. It's well worth the time!
I hope you are enjoying our monthly research digests. If you would
like to read more about the innovative and groundbreaking research
going on at Berkeley Engineering, please see our Forefront
magazine. You may want to bookmark it.
Very best wishes from Berkeley,
/rich
